You choose which number you give out

That one choice decides what your callers hear, and what you pay for.

Never miss a thing

Give out your On The Blower number

Every call is answered in seconds. Your assistant works out what the caller wants, puts the urgent ones through to you on the rules and hours you set, and turns the rest into a message. Nobody ever hears a ringtone go unanswered.

Keeps costs down

Keep giving out your own number

Divert only the calls you don't pick up. Your own phone rings first and the assistant catches the ones you miss, so calls you answer yourself never reach us, and never cost a penny. It's one code from your handset, and you can set it up in 30 seconds.

Not sure? Start on Answer. £20 a month, about 22 calls. Go past that and extra minutes come out of prepaid credit at 30p, so a busy month means topping up. If that is most months, Busy is £30 and includes 150 minutes, so you stop thinking about it — and we tell you when moving up would cost you less.

The small print, in plain English

Because nobody trusts pricing with an asterisk.

Is this a human answering service?

No, it's your own AI agent, which is why the prices look like this instead of the £40–£100+ a month human services typically cost. You get total control over what it says, it works 24/7 at no extra charge, and you only pay for the minutes it's actually answering.

How quickly am I up and running?

You can build and test your assistant today, free, in your browser. When you go live, your number is allocated in minutes. We hold the regulatory paperwork with the carrier, so there is almost never anything for you to submit — occasionally a carrier asks us to confirm who a number belongs to, and we tell you exactly what is needed. Diverting your existing number takes 30 seconds once it's live.

Do texts cost extra?

Texts are 7p each and entirely optional. Most people don't need them: the On The Blower app sends you a free notification for every answered call, and every call and message is always in the app for free. Texts are there if you also want an SMS to yourself or a follow-up text to the caller, and you only ever pay for texts that were actually sent. Texts arrive from the sender name "OnTheBlower", a professional one-way notification with your business name in the message, like the reminders your dentist sends. Customers can't reply to a text; it tells them to ring you back instead.

What counts as an answered minute?

Time your assistant actually spends on a call. If you're on "you first" routing and you answer it yourself, nothing counts. Wrong numbers and instant hang-ups don't count either. A typical call is two to three minutes.

What happens if I use up my included minutes?

Extra minutes come out of prepaid call credit at the rate on your plan. You top up in the app from £10, and credit never expires, unlike your monthly minutes. Or switch on auto top-up and never think about it. Credit rolls over month to month. A busy month is a good problem: those are customers, not costs.

Does my credit expire?

No. Credit rolls over month to month for as long as you're subscribed; it's your money, sat there until a call uses it. Your included minutes are the bit that resets each month, like any phone plan. If you ever cancel, any remaining credit stays usable right up until your service ends at the close of your paid month, and we remind you of your balance when you cancel so you can use it up.

Do I need a new number?

Your plan includes a local number, and plenty of people are glad of it: a proper local landline number looks more established than a mobile, and it's yours to put on the van and the website. But you don't have to use it that way. Keep giving out the number you've always used and simply divert it to your assistant when you're busy, after a few rings, or always. You control the divert from your own phone.

Is there a contract?

No contract, cancel any time. No setup fee, no joining fee, nothing one-off at all — you pay for the month you're in and that's it.

Can the bill run away from me?

It can't. Anything past your included minutes comes out of prepaid credit that you top up yourself — we can't bill you for more than you've put in. Turn on auto top-up and you set the monthly ceiling, and we never go past it without asking.

What if I run out mid-call?

The call carries on. We will never cut you off while you're talking to a customer — we'd rather absorb a few pence than have your caller hung up on. We'll tell you you're low, and you top up when it suits you.

Any hidden extras?

No. Everything is on this page: your plan price, answered minutes at the rate shown above once you pass your allowance, and optional texts at 7p each. That's the whole list. No connection charges, no setup fee, no cancellation fees, no surprises on the bill.
